Wrong! The club has no bank debt. The long term liabilities come from the directors, not a bank. They are all substantially wealthy individuals who have the long term interest of the club at heart. We are in very safe hands thank you very much. :D

Wonder how McManus would see the comparison with the other Saints, Northampton Saints in Union, this came from the weekly rugby trade news I take.

"Northampton Saints have matched their on-field glory with more success off the pitch and posted a profit for the 14th successive year, as well as recording a record turnover.

The Aviva Premiership and Amlin Challenge Cup winners' parent company, Northampton Saints plc, declared a pre-tax profit of £356,329 on a turnover of £14.897m.

The record financial results were underpinned by an impressive £1.5m rise in turnover, with commercial and rugby-related income such as ticket and merchandise sales both increasing dramatically in comparison with 2013"

He'd probably think if his turnover was nearly £15million he'd expect bigger profits. Still not a terrible position to be in

Northampton Saints are a very professional outfit off the park.
Their owner Keith Barwell is a smart cookie.
Perhaps they recruit business professionals to run the business side of things, rather than ex-pros.

I take it you'll commit to being equally as gobby next year if we break even/make a profit?

After all, why should anyone accept Eamonn's word for it as one of the world's most esteemed investment bankers when we have got you who spent his career as a back office bean counter and tea boy at John Smith's Widget Co Ltd.

Good luck in your continued search for credibility.

The problem also is Nigel Wood was shouting out ten days ago that the game is in a better situation than ever, then the annual accounts ending December were released, and surprise, surprise, profits down, sponsorship down? perhaps Nigel still uses an abacus, but still not enough owners will challenge him. Is Union run a lot more professionally off the pitch full stop.

Whilst having no particular desire to defend Nigel Wood (its an argument used to pass the time in offseason) - A successful governing body shoouldnt really be looking to maximise profits? Having as much cash flow as possible to pump into as many expansion/ youth/ etc programmes as possible puts the game in a better position with overall profits down for the governing body as a result.

If the RFLs profits are down by 1m, but it gave all 14 teams in sl an extra 100k investment, the sport is in a better position.

No idea if thats the case, but you cant hang draw and quarter the guy with the sole information profits are down...

From that statement I guess you have no idea what an account manager does. Just to tell you that some of my accounts were BP, Exxon Mobil, Shell, British Sugar, Iggesund etc
