The original question was why not release him then? Maybe they are using you petal and want to retain his registration petal.

Apparently the decision laid with Larroyer who didn't want to commit beyond 2015. He ruled out a return to Catalan, preferring to continue his 'development' at Rovers who wanted to make his move permanent (backed by a fee). However, Larroyer has ambitions to play in NRL and I believe that's where he will be hoping to head in 2016.
