Available regularly in the Corn Dolly. I often buy it if all the specials are a bit on the 'overstrong' [for lunchtime drinking] side. Tasty, well balanced ale for mine, though difficult to comment about it being beer of the year when it's one of the more regular tipples, especially with my personal taste being more for the hoppy, rather than 'well balanced', beers. Taylors brew some good ale though, so well deserved for them. ...even if I'm far from certain Boltmaker is actually their best brew.
But the speciality Champ was brilliant. Saltaire Triple Chocoholic. God I love that beer. And Saltaire churn out some portfolio, don't they? Can't offhand think of any one of theirs that's less than very good indeed..

The quality of ale produced in West Yorkshire now is truly staggering. There was a time, not too long ago, when Taylors kept the real ale torch flickering. But now they are almost a last resort, possibly because I drank so much when there was no other choice, not that Landlord isn't a classic. A couple of my favourites over the last year have been Gooseye Chinook & Kirkstall's stunning Dissolution IPA. Elland's 1872 porter was magnificent but as that won last year it's not in the reckoning really.
