Didn't see the match today, but seemed like disgraceful behaviour by the some of their fans.
How many matches behind closed doors would be a suitable punishment?
None, so long as the Club sort the matter out once and for all. Matches behind closed doors would deprive the vast majority of decent fans of their game and would almost certainly cause severe financial damage to the Club. Those involved need absolutely hammering though.
Don't think they would have got on the pitch if the stewards that were in front of us at the langtree were at leigh today. They were scary, right knuckle-draggers.
Dock them points, and send them down next year, should not have bricked the cas team coach,or attacked the cas mascot, also the steward and police officer, should not have been attacked, but some one some where will say it was the wire stewards fault.i feel sorry for rugby league at the moment.
Back in the day...70s and 80s it was the norm to run on the pitch after the game to get autographs off your heros and to pat them on the back as they left the field, occasionally, if the player proved to be exceptional on the day, lifted aloft upon the fans shoulders and carried to the dug out.
They were greats times, not like the pc brigade of today, not that I condone what the Widnes species have done, but I might be very forgiving had they had won.

Indeeed. As an impetuous 8 (I think) year old I scaled the Naughton Park wall to get John Bevan's autograph during the match - there was a break fo an injury so I spied my chance. Bev supplied the autograph, which got pride of place next tome "The Live Wires" pendant, and the WIdnes speccies applauded my heartwarming innocence.
They'd probably have bottled me off the pitch these days.
I've must be honest...I found it funny as. I don't condone it like I said, but it is funny, especially when a kid slips on his arrrrse. When a kid slips the grips of one steward and runs smack bang into another as he does.

The pride of the Widnes signing-on queue, this morning. That's if some of them can hold a pen. Most of them are still opening bananas with their feet, and de-lousing each other.
