Thats whay i did not sign up.

PS it doesnt "cost" £10 for the Club to do a DD scheme, but they charge it anyway.

I imagine that the £10 charge has to do with hedging against the risk that is inerrant with a monthly installment scheme compared with a one off fee. Rather than an excuse to just charge extra money.

The monthly transaction fee will be around 80p from the bank, assuming there are no problems. So for 10 payments that's an £8 overhead, as well as setting the DD up in the first place.

Yep. As well as x amount in labour cost for the time it takes over the 10 months to administer the scheme, monitoring missed payments and what not.
