The referee's indecision is final

Re: No Deal For Horne : Thu Jul 31, 2014 4:35 pm
Yeah i would agree that he is one of our best players of the superleague era, probably at his peak during the jason smith era in 2004 when he formed the great attacking axis with smith, cooke and was responsible for a lot of shaun briscoe's tries. Also got in the dream team that year. However he's been a decent player for us right up until last season though some would argue he's never been the same since his serious injury and diabetes diagnosis in 2008.

i also agree he can't really be regarded as a hull fc great - that's quite an exclusive club in my view, but certainly one of FCs most loyal clubmen

also one of the few one club men who made their debuts in the last century still playing the game - not many of these around now, sinfield and wellens spring to mind

Re: No Deal For Horne : Thu Jul 31, 2014 4:41 pm
The right decision IMO.

He has made a significant contribution to the club during his career but to include him with the all-time greats is overstating it.

He hasn't really been the same since Cooke left and injuries have also taken their toll.

Having said that thanks for his efforts and best wishes for the future.

Because it's still "this season" and not yet "next season".

Get with the program. Anyone not here next season should be immediately dropped, frog-marched out of the KC, and drummed beyond the city limits never to return.

Not sure about that but Wakefield were certainly interested at one point.

No, great sits quite well thank you.

Over 300 appearances, over 100 try's, challenge cup winner, grand finalist, Wembley finalist, consecutive games try scoring record, GB regular and 16 years service to one club.

I think that qualifies him.

 well said, great player, great clubman, sad to see him go, said on the radio he's in talks regarding coaching, he deserves every success, cheers Rich

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.;

Re: No Deal For Horne : Thu Jul 31, 2014 6:52 pm
I would like to thank Rich, for being there

OK he has not had the best in recent years, but he has been a fine example of a rugby league player and from such and early age. For the last sixteen years he has been a great ambassador not only for our club but for the whole city of Hull.

I wish him luck in his future endeavours and look forward to him progressing his coaching ambitions.

On another note I do find it quite appaling that certain comments by some have not been removed and /or the culprits dealt with, they are not needed on this thread.
