The chairman has offered him a wedge plus to go so not not looking good for the bloke...
Unfortunately our budget does not stretch to a top class replacement or a player of rugby intelligence, apparently we only pay six figures to props, people called Travis and wingers..we already need most of our budget to replace Josh, as the only local players we pay well , or massively overpay, are crap centres who cannot tackle...our best player doesn't even get an offer to make him change his mind..
Sadly what happens when the chairman and CEO/drain cleaner are left in charge of the salary cap, is that you are left looking at the middle tier next year without much hope...
Absolute travesty, entire Hull Rugby League in the same boat, really unbelievable when you stop to consider that a minimum of £20 million has been spent on the respective first teams in the last 10 years...where is all that dough..??
Back in Aus for the best part, or spent on pubs or in Brough...any of it deserved???
Not much...
What's with the abuse re the CEO? The Chairman and CEO are not left in charge of the salary cap, they are in charge of it. That's what chairmen and CEOs do in our sport. You seem to be in possession of a lot of information about salaries and other happenings at the club. I wonder how much is accurate and how much is made up to support your point of view as you vent your feelings. I would have though a "top class replacement" would be "a player of rugby intelligence". You would not be looking for one or the other.
'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world'
I also think KK will come good for what it's worth ...
Same here, he has a lot of good aspects to his game and Burns wasn't that good in his first season. Perhaps a try at hooker and give youth a chance at scrum half, it's working for FC with Abdull.

Good post. Both clubs missed a massive opportunity to spend in the right places during the licencing era when there was no risk involved and now both likely to be on the outside looking in enviously at the top level next season when the divisions split.

How many contradictions can you get in one post...
We've offered a wedge to get rid of Keating, yet we only spend £100k+ on props, Travis (who is a half back btw) and wingers. Now not being funny but I would assume Caro or Dave H are on nowhere near 100k so not sure who our other big money winger is. We wont offer our best player any more money but seemingly will pay KK a wedge to leave? and to top all this as well as props, travis and wingers we also spend a lot on crap centres who can't tackle.
To add a counter arguement I would assume the CEO has in the past spent a fair few quid on back rowers, Newton & Galea. A fair bit on a full back Briscoe and even more on Dobbo so its not all props wingers and Travis really.
As for the £20m that has alledgedly been spent I would assume its been spent in getting us promoted, keeping us up and becoming an established SL side that ten years ago seemed like a pipe dream. Do we want to progress more, sure we do but that lot you just posted seemed a little left field.

I do not know about left field I think he went to bed and dreamt it all up wand when he did wake up thought I know I will put it on the forum, that's how daft it seems

i think a fair amount may be embellished, but the sentiment (and he includes FC in this) is pretty much correct. We live in a city that loves RL, has a healthy rivalry and probably the best, and most indepth amateur scene in the country. Yet, we find ourselves in this sorry state which is pretty depressing. Whether we like it or not, the only way Hull will ever succeed now is to have one thriving team.

I think you might have a point both hull teams are way off been a top 4 team and unless someone can put a lot of money into any of our 2 hull teams it might be like this for a while playing for 8th each season is that what fans from hull and rovers want

A debate that's been had and probably done to death, but for me Hulls one usp is the two teams and the inner city rivalry. One team in hull would probably be on a par with which ever team was doing best and the crowds would be very similar fcs crowds. A lot of the interest in the game within hull is down to the rivalry element as well. Really think one team would fast stop being interesting. It's just a shame we aren't both up there challenging, that would give us the biggest crowds in the league.
