Is it time for the RFL... : Wed Jul 04, 2012 3:45 pm
...to bypass the seemingly hard to reach Adminstrator and speak directly to new potential investors, with a view to transferring the licence to the most suitable candidate?

Here is a VERY interesting little quote of Guilfoyle on Sporting Life site:

"I was openly criticised at the fans meeting for not returning calls so I've trawled through everything and sent out information and memorandums to the people who have expressed an interest."

Now I don't know about you guys, but I read that as saying that he DID find expressions of interest that had not been spotted before. Since he linked the two points without saying something like "in addition..." or "since then..."

If that is the case, it would suggest either he has been negligent in the conduct of the administration, in seemingly missing some potentially rather vital communications, or he did it deliberately but knows the game is now up and he has no choice but to talk to others.

But Guilfoyle is a professional and I am sure a man of integrity, so that would surely rule out either of those options? So I remain confused by what he meant there. Maybe wally reporting?

Now, I know you don't think that.

The only assets we have (not own) are the team, the ground and our Super League place. All three can be controlled by the RFL.

I'm not talking an RFL run team, the others wouldn't have that, but surely they can decide who plays in their league? (recognising the subtle distinction between RFL and SL).

certainly plenty of anecdotal evidence that guilfoyle has a history of being a bit blinkered in relation to investors. See this I found on t'other forum.

Stan Doffarf, on 03 July 2012 - 07:38 PM, said:

In tonight's T & A another potential investor states that his enquiries have produced no response from Guilfoyle.

Surely there's a case for him to answer in terms of his repeated failures to respond to these approaches, as well as his conflict of interest having been brought in by Caisley to undertake the original financial review? The only logical conclusion is that he is rebuffing other investors in order to leave Caisley with a clear run.

At the meeting last night he described himself as a chartered accountant. Can we refer him for investigation by the ACCA?

that was his tendency at plymouth. he fought tooth and nail against a sensible, committed, known investor who is now investing millions in the city of plymouth itself in favour of some dodgy, off shore company with no evidence of actual money or any due diligence because apparently "their representatives were respectable" and it "didn't matter who bought the club" and when finally we got the right guy on board guilfoyle delayed it as long as possible, refused payment of 12% of wages to people (ground staff, admin etc) who hadnt been paid for 18 months , because sensible chap was refusing to pay his ridiculous fees. the man is an out and out parasite.

[pedant] Guilfoyle will be a member of the ICAEW, or just possibly (despite his accent) ICAS, given the professional designation he used on Tuesday. So it is unlikely that the ACCA would be able to investigate him. For that to happen, he would have to be a Chartered Certified Accountant. [/pedant]

It means he's double checked and made sure he's sent out information and memorandums to people who've expressed an interest.

Was Chris Caisley involved in Plymouth Argyle?

According to Plymouth fans he was certainly associated with it.

When history comes to be written, the defining moment in all this sorry saga might just prove to be the Intervention? And I'm not talking about Caisley's disastrous Intervention before Easter, but the one on Tuesday from the audience.

Sunlight is anyway always the best disinfectant.

walker morris certainly were. caisley personally I don't know. All irrelevent though as the post i linked to was in relation to guilfoyle deciding who his preferred bidder was and ignoring other bidders - which seems to be the course he was pursuing in our case as well until the public meeting forced him to acknowledge the other potential investors.
