Our remaining SL games:

Catalan (A)
Castleford (H)
Huddersfield (H)
Saints (A)
Wigan (A)

IMO a win at Catalan and Huddersfield is a must as things stand. Then at least 1 win against the other 3.

As the teams around us are playing each other as well, we have the chance to go up a few places but also down a few places.

Predictions?

For me, much depends on how the semi goes. If we lose it, I can see us rousing ourselves and ending the season on a high and going into the play-offs as one of the favourites. If we win the semi, I think we may well endure a bit of an indifferent conclusion to the end of the season.

Personally, I think a CC win would be a fantastic achievement during a season of considerable, often turbulent change. If we could secure that I'd be happy to take what comes in the playoffs.

So, for me, based on us winning the semi :

Catalans LOSE
Cas WIN
Hudds WIN
Saints LOSE
Wigan LOSE

Why on earth would we want to put out a weakened side and go into the semi final on the back of three losses? Things just aren't clicking at the moment, the answer to that isn't to break the team up further.

when we had bridge ratchford at half back we went on an unbeaten run..ratchford goes loose forward and obrien plays we lose..send obrien to swinton..play ratchy and bridge at half back...all in all im not expecting us to beat leeds in the semi cos of the sinfield farce and most importantly we`ll get the biased silverwood as ref...hope im wrong...

This coming from someone who has posted ridiculous comments about Ben Thaler in the past.

But saying that, you do post on SouthStander so you would probably know more than others about what constitutes a stupid post, there are plenty on there after all.

How I see it judged on previous seasons.
There are two ways to go about it.

Method One is playing your best team week in week out like Leeds who could be considered to have the greater team understanding in SL, heightening your chances of winning should that period run in tandem with fortune. 1_3 injuries would endanger the foundations to that team as to erode that team understanding and stability.

Method Two is to play out the season as Wigan do.
Rest stars and play kids with a side that would be considered competitive but with a great degree of risk to the result. Yet strengthening the depth beyond that of greater risk than that of method one should player personnel selection be enforced as opposed to chosen in games of significant importance like sudden death play offs.

personally I would prefer method two. Wigan won a double without particularly being ultra star studded other than Sam T.

Although the notion that I give can still be shot pieces this season, with Wigan getting dumped out of the cup yet Leeds are not and virtually top of the league!!!!
