not sure if anyone has seen this but the ratings are 1-outstanding 2-good 3-requires improvement 4-weak we rate as a 3, requires improvement, mainly due to the lack of training facilities and coaches gaining further qualifications. http://media.therfl.co.uk/docs/Academy%20Accreditation%202013.pdf

Can understand the reference to coaching qualifications but cant really get my head around the lack of facilities

Theres the indoor facility near the stadium and Leeds Road -

Surely these provide all weather facilities --and presumably HTAFC use similar facilities

If they are substandard in some way when we have a "new" purpose built stadium it seems a bit contradictory to me
Whats lacking --fitness / toning machines

And surely players ability isnt dependent on such things --only fitness / recovery ?

We ought to be up in 2 or 1 to attract the best "young uns" after winning the League last year surely ?

they also use the YMCA facilities both indoors and on the fields

Don't worry guys- Leeds have also been rated 3- because we all know how much their academy needs improving!!

its doesnt actually say that the facilities are poor if you read it.. we are going to have some new facilities (whatever that may be) which will in turn improve the academy further.

sounds quite positive, hopefully a 2 next time round

I have a few mates who are with the Giants academy (U16s) and they say the training facilities are pretty embarrassing. Of course I defend the giants as best I can but the description of the gym makes it sound pretty bleak. I do however realise that U16s don't take priority and I understand that when you step up to U19s it drastically improves
