Firstly to Phil Townsend (aka TRB) - As I have just said on twitter, I have genuinely never been more delighted to call someone my friend. You are a friend, mentor and true inspiration. Of course, don't get too carried away with 12 years of dedicated hard work, there are still a couple more years of work yet to be done!
To all the SWAG members, this is the dream you started & I am merely a recent interloper who couldn't help himself but get involved... you all deserve the credit today as well and hope people will not forget this.
In particular I would personally single out Dave Jenison, Matt Lindop, Phil Hulme & Sue Parker for all the work they have put in and the constant support that both Phil & i got any time we asked and often when didn't even have to!
A double special mention to Judith Gibson, who's passion & dedication to the club and the Newmarket site (also as a Stanley resident!) was an inspiration to me. She also, more importantly did all the admin tasks that no one else likes to do and sorted through, counted and photocopied every single Statements of Support, which I think made a massive contribution in making the inspector understand the level of support for the scheme. The club is lucky to have such nice, dedicated supporters.
Of course Andrew Glover & James Elston and everyone at the club for all their support. I think once we got Andrew on the right page, shortly after he rescued the club, his belief that we could all do this never wavered. James is a great humble guy and happy to do anything we asked of him & the club, top man, top RL CEO.
I am also going to thank Ted Richardson. This started out as his baby and he deserves recognition for that & probably much more.
Also, thanks must go to Sir Rodney, Collin Mackie & all at Yorkcourt. I am looking forward to continue working with you to make this dream a reality. Also to Ian Thomson & Richard Hollinson and all the WMDC planning team for all their hard work and being both professional and honest about the whole process. You were right, this was always the best site and now two inspectors have proved it!
Finally, thanks to any one and every one who did something, even just signing the petition or in most cases, much, much more.
Top job, only another 2 years to go now!
Having had one hell of a day only just sat down to read all this I can only agree with all that and add thanks to you too IA , despite being a Leeds fan you have helped so much along the way with all your technical know how . You too deserve a pat on the back

I'll join you in that one. Fans' effort through and through. Well done everyone!!!
I'd just like to add a personal note before I disappear, though:
Jonathon Stone - legend. You've heard it before, but you'll hear it again - thanks for all the time and effort you've invested on our behalf. You've been magnificent.
Phil - your big day, mate. You were a massive help on here, and you still found time for all the other stuff too. Proud of you, and delighted for you! Thanks, and well done!
 It has clearly taken him most of the morning to work the number out!
Good luck keeping up the count now!
ah, erm, well, that's probably the answer you'll get if you rely on an incomplete set of ageing mark I brain cells Should have used the technology.
Anyway: D-968 ..... and counting
P.S. For any saddos who want their own countdownometer: Using excel (other spreadsheet programs are available) in Cell A1 type the date you think the first game will be. I chose 15/2/2015 in Cell A2 type =today() in another cell type =A1-A2 and hey presto! If the 3rd cell comes up with a date you'll need to format that cell as a number.
It would be interesting to know if there have even been 969 first-team players. Squads are much bigger now and this year's turnover has been exceptional.
Even at an average of 10 new players a year that's over 96 years
