Thank you for your previous response. I have a few more questions which I hope you don't mind answering:
- There will be 12 teams in Super League, 12 teams in the Championship. However, how many teams will be in Championship One?
Most likely to be 14 – awaiting final confirmation of the 14th team but this is close to conclusion.- How do Championship One teams get promoted to the Championship? Do they not have to play in the 3 leagues of 8 to get promoted?
2 teams will get promoted into the Championship. Clubs will debate on Friday whether this is League Leader and GF winner as in previous Champ 1 competitions, or an alternative method but they will not play in the 3 league of 8.- Do you have to have certain qualifications to enter the Super League like ground capacity etc.?
Yes, there will be minimum requirements to be released in August. However all SL grounds at present meet the draft requirements as do many Championship grounds.- Do you need an academy to enter the Super League?
No.- Is it an ambition of the RFL to have 3 leagues of 12 professional teams?
No – there is no desire to reduce the number of Championship 1 teams. We believe the number of teams in that competition should be based on the ability of the sport and the clubs to support themselves, rather than setting a limit on numbers.
Thank you
