TS Castleford Post-Match Comments : Mon Apr 21, 2014 6:27 pm
As reported on BBC, vebatim.

"They were a lot sharper, particularly in the second half. I've just asked some of my staff to see if they could unpack our attacking game, I think it was left on the coach.

"It wasn't a great day for us and Cas played well. The first half, there wasn't much between the two teams. The scoreline suggested that as well and they probably deserved to be slightly ahead at half-time, but they found some momentum in the second half.

"Whichever team was going to pop up with some of those big plays was going to get control of the game."

Come on Wire fans, find some reason for criticising his comments.

When we were winning WIgan fans used to always tell us he was arrogant and they would love to see that smug smile wiped off his face.

Now its for us to put the boot in TS.

The tone sounds about right. Clearly annoyed, but can't put the boot into the players for fear of lowering morale.

He has a tough job on his hands now with the injuries and under performing players. Still, if you have watched Wire for 30-40 years it's hardly anything new. Saints have had a bad patch for 3-4 years but seem to have come through, and so can we.

Yes we can put the boot in maybe this is what's needed

If I have an off day at work I'm quickly told to buck up

all this don't upset the players lark is clearly not working

Serious question. Does anyone else's line manager or company director say "we can't tell the staff they are well below what is expected, it will lower morale?"

Do we all suppose that the comments given to the media are the same things that are said to the players on a one to one in the sanctity of the training ground or managers office?

If you underperformed at work do you think you'd appreciate an arm round the shoulder chat or if warranted a rant in the office behind closed doors or a letter to The Guardian? What would work best?
All you hang em flog em types can't be captains of industry it won't work there isn't an endless supply of labour you need to find a way of creating next weeks hero from this weeks zero and a lynching isn't the method I'd choose

TS has always been a bit nondescript in interviews (mostly with Sky). I think most coaches (and players) are, but TS more than most; he really doesn't give much away.

As infuriating as this is for the fans, I am fairly confident in saying that his comments are not necessarily reflective of what is said in the changing rooms/at training.

To respond directly to your work comment: it is one thing for you to get told to buck up in the office, but I'm sure you wouldn't see it fit to have your boss reem you out to the rest of the company and your clients.

EDIT: they said on Wire FM today that TS was going crazy over something today, flailing his limbs, shouting and looking very agitated. I think this is probably more accurate than his interviews with the RL media. Anyone know what this was about?

If I had a bit of cash I'd buy the club off Simon Moran and then I could go on Twitter like Koukash

"Today was not acceptable. I want to promise all true Wolfolution fans that changes will be made! You have my solemn word!"

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

I heard he was on the receiving end of a wasp attack - TS is well known for his dislike of flying insects and its believed that this was what this incident was about.
