A must win match this for us to get some real distance on them in the battle to avoid the drop.

They will be inspired by getting closer to us in the Challenge Cup than the pre-match odds suggested so its certainly no given.

No team news as yet but we will of course be on the case.

I was impressed with Guasch junior the other day. Easier to come on behind a pack that had already asserted dominance, admittedly, but still. He's a lively one.

Closer than it needed to be in the end. Was a poor last ten minutes.

Some observations from the match...

The Hive is a decent facility all round. Nice bar and reasonable access to the motorways. If London can't do it there, they wont do it anywhere.

The match was really one sided for 70 minutes. At times it was man against boys in the first half and despite some passionate backing from the home crowd, we were the only side in it.

There were one or two little errors but we got away with them before the break.

There was a clear forward pass in the build up to their score before the break. You got the feeling if they were on 0 at half time they would capitulate.

Second half both sides were a bit better. Although it all sort of went mad late on.

A couple of uncharacteristic Bosc errors (the curse of having his name on my shirt perhaps!) and funny bounces gave them a couple of scores which made it tight.

They scored again at the death to make the result in doubt.
