Brilliant to get 4 points over easter

the table looks a whole lot better now

but im afraid we are nowhere near on form at the moment, still plenty of cracks but if we peak at the end of the season...which is the aim really then fair enough.

bit of a grumble after scoring 78 points in two games and two wins...oh how times have changed

yep, 4 points from 2 average performances, can't complain at that as we haven't played well all season.

points are what matter not performances, on that basis alone cant grumble, as for performance.......... pah.

Had a bit of bad luck as well. A different bounce of the ball would have seen us take 8 points from the first four matches, not 4, and still be in the Cup.

Whereas a different bounce of the ball would have seen Saints lose at Cas, Leeds, against us in the Cup and maybe even Wakefield too. They could have played exactly as they have done, without that bit of luck, and lost the last six games.

I still think the full story of this season hasn't been written. The Giants are much better than their form. St Helens aren't anyway close to being as good as the hype that they've generated. Wire are genuinely a shadow of the team they were, but Leeds seem to have found yet another year out of the old guns. Cas have come from nowhere, but they look pretty good to me.

I can see Wigan slipping through almost unnoticed and winning it again TBH.

Plenty to play for yet.

Steve. ATM we are gash! Last year I thought we could win it. This year; no. Not from what I've seen.

The only glimmer of hope we have is that on paper I think we are better than last year and some of the opposition are weaker. Our failing, IMO, is that we aren't trying as hard any more. We think we are so good we can coast. We aren't. No one is. Our attitude, especially up front, is off.

Three of the four defeats have been away.
Home games are always easier to win and out of 10 games we have only played 4 at home. The table means nothing at this stage of the season.

As for Castleford they have started really well but think they don't quite have the quality to mount a serious challenge. They have benefitted from not having players who played in the World Cup. With a week off to get our batteries recharged and Cas playing in the cup next week I expect us to produce a quality performance and beat them.

I can't see us beating Cas. I hope we do. We can. But there needs to be an epiphany.

True enough, they're not anywhere near what they can be.

My point is that this is a really weak league at the moment. Even compared to last year the standard has dropped as Wire have lost all their good players, Wigan have lost their big strike player, Catalans have lost their way, Bradford have continued their implosion.

The standard has fallen, and IMO is back to where it was twenty years back. It's masked for us at Huddersfield because this is the best Huddersfield side for fifty years, but the overall league is slipping backwards quickly.

The first club to step up a gear can take this league by storm.
