Re: 24 quid : Mon Apr 21, 2014 7:50 pm
im afraid i have to agree, £24 is steep, now before people start firing back i know it's the top league and how it compares to football and RU etc but we are supposed to be trying to attract new fans to the club and the sport, and charging £24 to me is not going to help.i know season ticket holders are the lifeline etc but the club surely have to do other things to get bums on seats, today for instance, a bank holiday, nice weather leading up to the game, some people will have not made plans and would have been looking for things to do, so what did the club do to try and attract people to come to the game? nothing as far as i was aware, quite a few people in town before the game weren't even aware that the giants were playing today! and we got a pitiful attendance of 5,347!
the cinema next door was heaving with people as im sure the shopping centres/garden centres were. we should have done more to get people to come and watch a game of rugby league ( although the quality today was poor)
it's all well and good saying the season ticket holders have put money into the club but even some of those probably found other things to do today.
the reason the likes of wigan and leeds can attract people who are willing to pay £24 is because they are successful and are a popular pull for the people in those area's,the giants clearly are not attractive to the people of huddersfield.
i fear unless the cost comes down and/or the trophy cabinet fills up that our crowds will continue to disappoint
