I agree thats becoming a bigger issue, a few years ago you coulden't have got any decent seats together near the halfway line, this year our block (E5) has had several together empty, so you don't get the same 'get a pass or miss out' feeling like you did.
I'll be there tomorrow because I have a pass, but to be totally honest if the weather was a few degrees warmer, I'd be at the seaside or at the nearest BBQ. I just can't get excited for the this battle for 8th place. Whether next years split to 3 leagues of 8 makes it more interesting we'll have to wait and see.
