well i, for one was more excited about seeing Penny come back and play for us than i was about any of the other signings, and pretty much all of the people i go with felt the same.. Admittedly a large proportion of our fans nowadays probably don't know who Penny is.

I heard a story that signing Penny was simply to fill your home grown players (or whatever it's called) quota. Part of the agreement was that he'd be loaned straight back to Swinton.

How true it is, I don't know. It came from a Warrington employee though.

i dont think 1 single person was swayed into buying a season ticket when penny resigned.

Maybe this is like an Abramovich/Mourinho situation.

Penny is like Shevchenko, the glamour signing brought in by the owner over the coach's head to sell season tickets.

Sounds like one for Nosey Parker to investigate.
