I believe so, his chasing of the kick last night was excellent, for his second try he must have made up almost 10 metres on his opposite winger and then somehow managed to get his hand round to score. Very enthusiastic and determined.

You know my feelings about Hampshire as a player. That's probably the best I have seen him play whilst at Wigan, he was brilliant in his passing, kicking and running, a truly outstanding performance. I hope Wigan t.v. have recorded the game, his try alone is worth the subscription fee.

Yes, hopefully the game will be on Wigan tv, the Widnes game wasn't though.

Having read Bilko's report on the u19s match, his comment about Hampshire stood out regarding what is Hampshires best position.

From Bilko's article.
"Having Ryan Hampshire in the halves certainly helped. Jake Shorrocks has been reportedly carrying an injury in recent Under 19s matches but today we were full of zip and vigour and for me Rocky's performance again showed that he is better at six than he is at full back".

What do fans who have seen Hampshire's career develop feel is his pest position and more important does anybody know what position he prefers himself ?.

I feel with Hampshire his defence isn't good enough to be exposed at fullback. Tomkins defence was good enough but not great. Hampshire could have the same impact in attack, but he would be to exposed at fullback and that will dent his confidence and it will harm his development.

To get in a top class side at fullback, your defence and ability under a high ball should be superb, it's the ability going forward that sets you apart from the rest. Getting in at fullback because of your attack whilst sacrificing the defensive side is a mistake in my view.

Tyler Whittaker is now at Salford, does anyone know why he moved there ?

I am guessing he was behind Shorrocks, Doran etc in the pecking order,

There was a 15 minute highlight video of the 19s game vs Saints on Wigan TV yesterday afternoon, but I went to watch it last night and it had disappeared. Hopefully it will reappear.

was it a really young forward pack? a lot of them don't look physically big enough to make the step up apart from one of the 2nd rows who scored with a beard?
