Hull have just announced that young centres Ben Crooks and Joe Arundel will be available to Doncaster this weekend. Jay Pitts and possibly Dean Hadley will also be available.
Not sure I agree with Ben Crooks as he was in the Super League Dream Team last year, however given our injury crisis we don't have the luxury of being able to take the moral high ground.
According to the Hull Daily Mail , we are getting Crooks for 2 or 3 weeks ! (interview with Radford). I agree with the prop comment , hopefully that will be addressed with a permanent signing. see other thread.
If you read the Hull forum supporters are not too happy with Crooks and think he has lost some confidence so may be to help restore that. I did suggest tongue in cheek on there forum he could be helped with a month at Donny.
Not what dual reg should be about, enough of us had a go at Swinton last season. Disagree with some of names mentioned turning out for the Dons, but first wait and see if it happens.
SUPER LEAGUE’S Young Player of the Year Ben Crooks has been dropped by Hull FC coach Lee Radford and will, instead, play for part-timers Doncaster after doubts about his confidence and defence.
The Dream Team centre, 20, is joined by winger Joe Arundel on dual-registration at the Championship club as both pay the price for indifferent displays.
Radford, whose side have won just once in their last four games ahead of tonight’s visit from Huddersfield Giants and were knocked out of the Challenge Cup a week ago, said: “It has been a real strange one for Ben.
“He shot on the scene last year and then didn’t play after the Challenge Cup final which will obviously not be remembered by its highlights package.
“He then copped an injury in pre-season and when he’s played this year there’s been moments of brilliance with the ball, but we have to get his percentages up and decision-making in defence.
“He’s working tirelessly (but) we hope a couple of games at Doncaster wil benefit both.”
Radford also wants Crooks to increase his weight while there are reports that the East Yorkshire club will soon secure a deal for ex-New Zealand centre Setaimata Sa, struggling since leaving Catalan Dragons for London Irish 18 months ago.
