I wonder how many beers he had today in the run up to the match...
Briers has been the model professional since Tony Smith took over but some people just think because he's a lad from St Helens he's automatically going to be a complete tool.

I've seen him with my own 2 eyes necking pints down at Thatto Heath's clubhouse less than 2 hours before the kickoff of a cup quarter final while very firmly under Smith's stewardship matey...
He may very well have spent all day Saturday drinking carrot juice in the buildup to the game, but given that he seems to like to get a couple down before 2pm then I think it's a fair bet there'll have been a few in him by 7pm too...

Fantastic who would add something to any team in the world on his good days
The problem is that his good days very rarely coincide with days in which he's playing in a high pressure match. He went missing again for me last night, he just isn't a big game player.
I'm not Jesus Christ, I've come to accept that now.

That's why I said on his good days but to be honest he's done ok in the last few cc finals

Correct! He's at thatto every week when possible a d certainly is a saints lad. I also think he's been doing a lee briers coaching school for kids.
Everyone knows lee likes a drink and he did hammer the booze when he had a personal tragedy to deal with it but by no means is not a true pro.
Saints legend Sean Long liked a fe beers as well but nothing said about that.
Exactly, Long and Tommy Martyn did not live the lifestyle of teetotal monks did they?
The way people make out Briers to be like some sort of Gazza /George Best figure that gets wasted every week, how come he's kept his fitness and form for so long into his career? You don't do what he has done at his age, without being a great pro.
Of course I could be wrong and maybe Briers just looks good because he's carried by a world class side?
