Did you read the article. It says unlikely, not definately no more signings this year
Yes, I read it. I would think that Gentle saying it is unlikely then it would be contradictive if we actually did sign someone before the deadline. Would seem a pointless article. Wouldn't care if it was if Rangi came early, though!
The rumour I heard and posted was that we are signing Chase and that it might even be for this season. I or nobody i've seen said this was definate, just a rumour. People I know are still convinced it's happening but don't know when. I'm reserving judgement as knowing FC we will end up with no one.
Rather than rolling your eyes why not just don't come on the thread or better still lets not have a rumours thread cos from what I can see all people do is moan.
are you starting a rumour that people moan on here?

Granted Paul the rolling of the eyes was maybe unjustified, however there were a couple of posters the other night who mentioned Chase making his debut against Rovers a week on Monday, i enjoy a good rumour as much as the next person i suppose its just how far you take it, some do seem to get a bit carried away with themselves.

Yes I think it would tbh, I heard they wanted 300k and we are only prepared to go 200k (obviously this is just pure speculation by people), I believe Cas actually want rid of him if I am honest and if this is correct they will end up taking the best offer in closed season and I also a lot of teams won't touch him due to his baggage so I doubt it will be a bidding war....Mind on saying all that it is worth noting I love a good conspiracy
Maybe how much we can offer for Chase depends on how much Widnes will pay us for Tickle?
First there was wisdom Then there was knowledge Now there is only information
Who is todays rumoured signing then everyday its someone else, Holdsworth wants out of Salford apparently, what about Lee Smith hes available out of contract at the end of the season!

Hard to judge whether that deal is done and dusted, therefore the fee has already been agreed or whether we are still arguing the toss about the fee. As I understand it the man himself has agreed terms and is ready to come. It may of course be a hypothetical agreement i.e. "if Hull agree to sell me these terms would be acceptable". But I agree whatever you get for him can go towards your war chest for Chase or whoever. The thing is that money wont be coming until the end of the season.
My take on the Chase thing is that you will have enquired about his availability for 2012, especially when he was suspended and been quoted a silly price, or told no.
Cas are building for next season with Shenton and a few others coming, they are more likely to want to cash in before the 2013 season starts. My guess keeping Chase for 2013 onwards will cripple them, so he will go somewhere a chance for your man Pearson to put his money where his mouth is and show his ambition.
