In a meeting that included Blake Solly of the RFL this evening, he briefly explained about the "standard" financial model for a SL club, and what numbers were required to make it work. Thsi translates directly into the franchise benchmark criteria such as 10k crowds and £4m total income. I have to say what he said all made perfect sense to me.

Is this what they would be considering when they meet to decide the future of the Bradford Bulls in the next few weeks? 10k should surely be ticked for us.

I have e mailed my point before to the RFL (before this Bradford scenario) because as I said I always thought that global expansion be it only into Wales was a non starter. My main point is the RFL's plans seem to be just like this government, look good on paper but no substance or consistancy. This is not a comment on Bradfords situation but I thought post on hear because I just hope the RFL are not getting supporters hopes up ie "We agree to things in principle"?
Have faith in the RFL Yawnn!!!

We can/maybe make the attendance figure but the turnover thing is going to be a problem.
Accounts to 31/12/2010 showed we were short of the £M4 and I think 2011 would have been a lot less due to withdrawal of some sponsors

10k crowds required with the entrance fees set at a market rate, not heavily subsidised should be the remit as well

Huddersfield, Castleford, Wakefield, Widnes, Salford, Hull KR and London don't get 10,000 crowds - thats half of Super League clubs that don't meet that criteria!

Can't speak for the other clubs but we actually made a profit this year which in my opinion covering what you spend should be more important than the turnover.

:?
Er, the market rate is the rate you need to charge to persuade 10K people to come. If they don't, then you didn't charge the market rate for persuading 10K people to pay it.

HTH.
