But why should Bradford be treated differently to London Quins/Broncos. They have formed a new club. I can't see a problem with them staying in SL if they are taken over by a new group so long as other clubs get the same treatment. The RFL should give no assurances as to them staying in SL because if they finish bottom three years running and the franchise thing is still around they should be out. Oh one other thing they should be starting next season -10 points.

Well I'm going to have a go at putting 2 + 2 together here. The consortium won't take over if the projected losses over the next 18 months are to big to be deemed worth covering, they also want their SL membership gauranteed and finally they want the lease on Odsal back from the RFL. The RFL paid an amount for the lease less the amount they secretly lent to Bradford in November (700,000).
The consortium which seems to be led by an Indian restaurant chain also contains a number of property developers. Maybe the same property developers who have made approaches over the last few years in an attempt to get hold of the land.
I understand that this is a payment which would have fallen due to Bradford from this season's allocation later in the year and not an advance on next year.
In that case, should Bradford receive this advance payment now, and go insolvent regardless, then the New Co wont get that allocation when it should be due. Seems like a bad idea.

If Bradford go into liquidation then the NewCo will have no automatic right to any central payments so either way it is the RFL's call.

Not automatic, but it's fair to suggest that whatever organisation fulfils the Bulls fixtures this season would be due the remaining payments. They definitely won't get them now, because that money is being used to pay off the salary bill of the existing business which is still likely to go in to liquidation.
Although Trevor said that we was having a visit form the RFL earlier this week with regards to our bid for 2015, so maybe we may get considered , but tbh we arent ready yet, better waiting to apply for 2015.

Personally I think it's just a bit of a nothing story anyway and has been pointed out elsewhere, we wouldn't be included because we weren't eligible for a SL franchise the last time around.
Personally I'm more worried about this bid by the ABC consortium. Most of them are developers and want to buy back the Odsal lease from the RFL - I think it all sounds very suspicious.
Has no one tried to pin the blame on Bradfords shocking financial mismanagement on Richard Lewis yet?
Can't be bothered reading back, but someone usually blames him at some point for something he can in no way be held accountable for, so I'll be disappointed if they haven't.

How did Bradford get their licence application approved last time, surely these financial issues would have been highlighted to Richard Lewis and the RFL numpties? The whole situation stinks. They are one of the mosr successful teams of the Super League / franchise era. Surely, their plight, and the reported plight of others, shows that RL as a sport can't support highly paid full time players and that franchising is a failure.
