He's heavily involved with the Positive Bradford stuff too. He definitely bangs the drum for the city. I'll be delighted if this comes off.

looks like the RFL could be held at gun point.....sell the lease back cheaply to new consortium, pay July wages for the Bulls and we will take over the team on Monday....... Do the RFL have to publish full accounts ....????

...or maybe they are discussing a fair and equitable deal buying back the lease so they have more control going forward and the RFL are not out of pocket?

And maybe they are asking for an advance of the sky money (which would be ours anyway in time, not an RFL handout) to cover the immediate wages?

Could be either, but I'm inclined to hope for the more positive approach until we know some facts.

Sounds positive so far, and certainly seems the right kind of local investor, fingers crossed.

Didn't someone mention thats what Caisley wanted to do well certainly reduce the ground rent!
The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!

Sounds like the rumours at Trin when an investor was allegedly going to take over the club in admin but wanted assurrances that Trin would remain in SL these were not forthcoming by the RFL I wonder if it will be the same stance here if it becomes an issue.

Just seen the following comment on the T&A site

"The T&A understands that Bradford-based restaurant chain Akbars are part of the consortium looking to buy the club but not neccesarilly the main players"

The report in the paper reads:

" "The group have shown genuine interest in taking the club forward and, whilst we are cautiously optimistic regarding the outcome of these discussions, the consortium will be holding further discussions on Tuesday with the Rugby Football League.
"They will be seeking information on the situation regarding the ownership of Odsal Stadium and will be discussing the Bulls' status in the Super League competition going forward.""

Akbars (or anyone) looking to do a deal would very obviously need to:
1. establish exactly what their position was going to be in regards to a lease; very obviously nobody would ever do a deal with the administrator first, without having done a deal on the lease.
2. establish exactly where the Bulls will stand as regards Super League, wit the RFL.; very obviously nobody would ever do the deal first, and only afterwards find out whether they had bought a SL club, a Championship or Championship 1 club.

It is the first press release that makes 100% perfect sense to me.

I hope they get the assurances that they seek from the RFL.

From the same update Rhinosgirl reported:

The RFL have sent staff up to Odsal to give the Bulls practical assistance with their finances.

I'm surprised the conspiracy theorists aren't all over that already.

Interim Bulls chief executive Gary Tasker met coach Mick Potter today to update him on the latest situation.

I hope that means what I think it means.

well bradford have to play at Odsal whoever finally owns them as the reason the RFL gave for buying the lease was to secure the iconic ground for rugby league. So Bulls will be there and in Super League
