Line Up for Comedy night Friday 3rd August announced
Five in on the Door -Hall of Fame from 7.30pm

CRAIG DEELEY

Hailing from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire (a town otherwise famous for fake kidnaps and 'Britain's Best Market'), charming northerner Craig is currently one of the hottest rising talents on the comedy circuit.

Craig cut his comedy teeth as resident compere at award-winning London club The Funny Side...of Covent Garden sharing a stage with some of the very best comedy acts in the business including Harry Hill, Stewart Lee and even Hollywood legend Robin Williams. He rapidly became a master of the compere's art; able to turn any crowd from a lacklustre mob into a clapping, cheering, delirious audience ready to laugh all night.

Having honed his talents as an MC introducing others, in 2008 he began bringing his impressive stage presence and flair for audience banter to his very own stand-up set. Since then, his rise through the comedy ranks has been nothing short of meteoric. Within just 1 month he had reached the final of The Other Side New Act of the Year competition and within 3, the final of the coveted Hackney Empire New Act of the Year. In the past three years he has also appeared in a comedy film alongside Adam Hills and Brendon Burns and recorded a comedy pilot for the BBC. He is currently recognisable to many as the face of a series of comedy TV adverts for Plusnet Broadband.

An instant crowd pleaser with a charismatic, mock-confrontational style, Craig is now a highly sought-after act and compere, performing all over the UK at the nation's leading comedy clubs, as well as overseas.

Bloody funny. – Jo Brand

MIKE NEWALL

Manchester has a rich comedy heritage, seemingly able to produce iconic comedians quite effortlessly. Mike Newall is certainly the latest, and could even go on to become the greatest.

A gentle, amiable power-house of a comic, Mike’s timing is the envy of performers with ten times the experience and is living proof that you can’t learn to be funny, some people just are. Since making his debut in 2003, he has toured the country honing his skills and is now a force to be reckoned with.

A talent who audiences, colleagues and industry-types alike are really sitting up and taking notice of, Mike Newall is the future of the Manchester scene, as cheering crowds from Penzance to Inverness will happily testify.

'Impressive stuff' - XS Malarkey

'That laid back he's practally horizontal' - Stockton Fringe

'Oozes charisma. Liam Gallagher with wit. And a vocabulary' - Caper Club

Ray Kane

Lovable Halifax born and bred musical comedian.

Winner of the Leicester Stands Up 2007 competition

CITYLIFE COMEDIAN OF THE YEAR 2006 FINALIST (COMEDY STORE, Manchester)
)

"A slick, appealing crowd-pleaser with a strong hoodie-based song to lift the atmosphere, a nice visual gag to close and some winningly self-deprecating material to link it all together ... Something, then, for almost everyone." CHORTLE - Steve Bennett
