No, I'm not talking about the Lance Hohia (sp) try/no try or even the goal that clearly went over but wasn't given.

I caught the very end of the under 20's match and witnessed the strangest decision I have ever seen! Saints under 20's were trailing 32-30 and then very late on in the match were given a penalty about 35/40 metres out from the sticks, fairly central. Saints understandably opted to kick at goal and get a draw. Foster slotted over the goal, but the referee gave a penalty to Widnes for offside, saying the Saints players were stood in front of Foster when he kicked it!! A truly baffling decision as none were chasing the kick as they knew it was going over and they had earnt the draw!

Very strange decision that cost Saints the match as the final whistle went very shortly after!

The only thing strange was that the call should have been a scrum to Widnes, not a penalty.

Saints number 6 wad stood well offside at the kick. Robinson was right not to award the. goal, but offside at a penalty kick at goal is a scrum to the non kicking team.

Thought saints were unlucky to get a penalty against them for being offside on the kick off. Ridiculous decision in a situation where you could penalise 4/5 players on every kick restart. Obviously only done it to make up for the conversion decision but I don't think he had to because it was down to the touch judges, not him.
Back the bid - not back it until the going gets tough. WTID

Hate to say it but the decision was spot on. There was definitely a Saints player in front when the kick went. But well done to the Widnes crowd for bringing it tot he referee's attention.

Credit where credit is due. The crowd must have been watching your lot at KR for years who insisted on bringing things to the refs attention. "FORWARD"

i remember one that the great(sic) karl kirkpatrick was once involved in at K.R. i cant remember who we was playing? i think it was something like 30-28 to saints in the dying minutes? they got a penalty. the ref stood infront of the player with the ball, the player tapped it and ran and was tackled immediately. he then looked at the ref and pointed to the goal posts(indicating he wanted to go for "two") K.K then allowed him to kick it  the game ended in a draw...

Saints 32-32 Castleford in 1998 possibly?

That ended with Cas kicking a penalty with seconds to go and included a Dean Sampson 1st half hat-trick!Crazy game played in a howling gale.
So only you know you have the secret?
