Not bad for a bloke who wasn't allowed to wear his own skinsuit...

It's his to lose now.

How good is Chris Froome? If he was allowed a free hand do we think he'd win the Tour?

He may still end up winning this tour because if Evans /Nibali attacks and Wiggo can't follow then Sky have to send Froome to follow.

It would be interesting to see a Tdf with Contador and Froome in it which is what I guess we'll see in 2013.

Froome has the potential to win Grand Tours in the very near future, maybe even this year's Vuelta. Trouble is, if he's going to win the big one he'll probably have to leave Sky to do it.

I don't think he has to leave Team Sky - I'll explain.

This years Tour is set up for a strong time triallist. Yes there are climbs but there are not too many strong climbers around to capitalise on them. Evans is not a mountain goat. Nibali is somewhere between a mountain goat and a classics man. Samuel Sanchez has crashed out. Cobo is....nowhere to be seen.

So this year is the perfect storm for Wiggins to capitalise and win the Tdf.

Next year - I reckon that ASO will want a different Tour. One which sets up a battle between a returning Contador and Andy Schleck. Would Wiggins be a player in this kind of battle? Well he'd certainly be a top 5 player based on what I've seen so far.

However a strong Contador would take big chunks of time out of Brad in the serious mountains. Too much for him to take back in a TT.

Froome on the other hand would be a serious contender.

As for this years Vuelta. That is going to be a battle between the mountain guys with Contador back and Andy Schleck wanting to recover something from 2012 - whether Froome would have enough in the tank remains to be seen although he hasn't raced a lot of miles this year.

Shame, but not entirely unexpected. Get himself right for the Olympics.

Indeed, I guess it'll all depend on how bad this break to his wrist is.

The Cofidis rider arrested is being named as Remy Di Gregorio. He's 35th so far.

No surprise at all about Tony Martin - in fact I predicted that about a week ago. Poor fella had no luck whatsoever. Falls, flat tyres - just not his year. Sorry that the bet didn't come off for you Fungus.

As for the arrest......it looks like it is as a result of a year long investigation by Marseille police. Don't you just hate how doping past comes back to cast a shadow over the current Tour?

This is why there will always be a portion of the press who refuse to believe a great performance can not be entirely natural. Wiggins has a great opportunity to be an advocate for clean cycling. I would like to hear a few statements from him about this minus the effing, jeffing and the c-bomb!

Can see a Evans-Nib's pact forming to attack Team Sky.

Do these pacts ever actually happen? I've seen it for stage wins and one day races and so on but for the latter two weeks of a grand tour?
