TBF I don't think Ellis was quite good enough for us yet hopefully though he will do well in a team like Cas to gain experience at this level and kick on to be a good SL player.
I think the fact that he was back up and that if Horne and Seymour where both fit it would mean he had no chance of getting in the 13 did him no good. A good run with a decent scrum half next to him (like Orr today) and we'd of seen a better player. But its all hindsight so who cares

Exactly.
Ellis had chances in the team but didn't take them. If he'd played well he would have forced his way in but he didn't. He clearly didn't get as fit as the coach wanted him to as was said earlier in the season. That is no ones fault but his own.

A number of your players would be out of their depth in the Championship.
How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?
Ellis certainly didnt look poor yesterday. He was unlucky not to have bagged another try or two.
He contributed more yesterday than McGoldrick has in 3 years.
I personally do not think he is poor and he certainly has a great boot on him, I think the way Cas play off the cuff and expansive rugby will suit his game more and hopefully he will carry on performing well.
