Tom Hodson's season looks to be all but over after the winger broke his thumb in yesterday's victory over South Wales Scorpions.

The club's leading point's scorer of 2012 will be out for up to ten weeks and will be in plaster for six weeks.

Dons head coach Tony Miller said: "It's a massive blow for the club and I really feel for the lad.

"He's been one of our most consistent performers this season and he's quickly become a favourite with the club's fans and supporters.

"I'd like to wish him a speedy recovery and thank him for his efforts - he will be missed."

That is both sad and disappointing.

Has been a fantastic signing.

He's helped us get promotion.
It would be nice if he could stay with us.
We have at least three other kickers and Waterman was scoring tries before the ball got to Tom, so I think our campaign is not derailed at all.
I am obviously sorry for Tom, he was clearly a point scoring machine who was destined to top the league of point scorers.

It's weird, I was just thinking recently, when will we see another Tom Hodson super sprint try, because the ball has not been getting to him recently has it?

The answer is perhaps never again.
I hope not!

All the best to Tom, I really hope it isn't last time seen in a Donny shirt.

Would hope with promotion we could retain most of this squad.

Will China be back fit?

I wish Miller hadn't but Jinx on it in League Express!!!!!

There is no such thing as a jinx.
Rugby players get injured all the time as we know with Cowling and Cunningham and all the rest.
Miller is just stating the obvious, we are as good as promoted.

We will hardly miss Tom, exceptional as he is, because we have players good enough to step in. Not as fast granted, but as long as they can flop over from a Waterman pass it doesn't matter to a critical degree.

Tom has not been scoring tries for fun of late and we have still been winning with big scores, so that should continue even in his absence.

Tom has been a fantastic signing for the club.

This is a cruel blow both for Tom, the club, and the fans.

When I saw the e-mail from the Dons pop up on my computer screen mentioning the news, my initial fear was that Tom had signed for someone else. It was one of those heart-sinking moments. A broken thumb was certainly the lesser of two evils, even though very unwelcome news.

Tom is a class act. It would be awful to think he might have played his last game for us and we'll never see him make one of those lightening fast dashes down the touchline in a Dons' shirt again.

Please stick with us for at least another season, Tom! Good luck for a speedy recovery ... and we'll hope beyond hope that you might be fit for the Grand Final on 30th September!

First and foremost, get well soon, Tom. You will be missed. If it is your last game for us, thank you for helping to put us firmly in the promotion picture. I'm sure, like all Dons' fans, we would welcome you back with open arms next season. Loved seeing your tries and try-saving tackles this season. Here's hoping it heals early enough to celebrate promotion with the rest of the lads. Once again, cheers!

Next SO you will tell me their is no Easter Bunny....

Take some posts for what they are.
Did you really think when typing that I was holding TM accountable?

If China isn't fit Tom will be missed more than you are giving credit for.

As by my reckoning with Spur covering centre and Stu on other wing...that does leave us short, assuming the other 2 centres will still be a few weeks away from return.
