Looks like it is all kicking off with the Bulls today. Potter asked to do his job for nothing and made redundant. From my limited HR knowledge no new Head Coach can be employed as position now redundant. What price Noble comes in as Director Of Rugby.
They'll find some mug to buy them but they are in a real shambles.

You are correct in what you say, if the bulls have made potter redundant then they cannot replace him with someone else. It's complicated how it all works but it's the position that's made redundant also. If and when the bulls need a new coach they have to offer mick potter the position 1st. If I remember rightly it lasts for a certain length of time, 1 year I think.

Only way out of this is if the bulls are sold and a new company formed.

You're right as regards that a position is made redundant, not the person so that position cannot be refilled for a period, I believe it's 6 months. In that period you also can't employ someone in an identical or very similar role, but with a different job title unless you offer it to the person made redundant on equal terms and conditions to what they left on.

However as Potter, was on a fixed term contract. He won't have been made redundant, his contract will have been terminated.

When a business is placed in to administration, the administrators have special powers to terminate fixed term contracts without having to pay compensation. In normal circumstances, unless the termination was dismissal for gross misconduct, that would generally be the remaining amount of salary to be paid for the duration of the contract.

This is done to allow the administrators to buy as much time as possible for a buyer to found before entering liquidation.

According to look north this morning Bulls have been given a extra two weeks
by the administrators to save the club being wound up. Noble to take over as coach. (temp)

Looks like the administrator is dancing to Caisley's tune. I always thought that Noble had questionable morals but to step into Potter's shoes so quickly will stink of a stitch up job. As Jamie Peacock stated last night it will be a tough job for him to win the players over.

"We are extremely grateful to the Super League and to the RFL for advancing us funds to enable us to pay the July wage bill," he said.

The future of the club beyond July 27 now appears to rest with a group of local Asian businessmen, known as the ABC consortium, who have followed up their initial interest by holding talks with the RFL.

Guilfoyle confirmed he had "serious interest" from the ABC consortium but has yet to receive a formal offer.

The businessmen want a guarantee that Bradford will be allowed to keep their place in Super League while the major stumbling block is their insistence that they be given the chance to buy back the Odsal Stadium lease from the RFL before agreeing any deal to take over the club.

The RFL, who paid around £1.25million for the lease in January, are likely to place conditions on the future use of Odsal before agreeing to any deal."

1. I hope the Administrator paid the PAYE and National Insurance to the taxman as well.

2. Scottish football has done the proper thing - Rangers to the third division. The RFL should do the same with the Bulls for next season.
