So they brought a tenth of what we took to their place. I know its expensive for away supporters coming to the KC but you expect more than 250 to travel from west yorkshire on a sunday afternoon. That said, the hudd turnout in the CC was half decent. The north stand is sparce every home game apart from the derby, sad, but I can't see it changing anytime soon.

Couldn't agree more - find it so frustrating that Rovers and Hull take fantastic support to so many away games yet it is rarely returned by other clubs.
It sounds like Hull probably took 2200 more to Hudds than they brought here. Adding up some very rough figures:

2200 x £15 (as an average price say) = £33,000
Progamme sales to Hull fans at Galpharm: 300 (as a mad guess) x £3 = £900
Beer sales: 400 pints (again, mad guess) x £3.50 = £1400
Food sales: 400 x £2 hot dog = £800

Total = £36,100

Okay these are wild guesses, but I reckon you can say that this is a fair guess at how much more Hull contributed to Hudds' coffers than they will have done to yours yesterday.
It's happened for so many years with us too (e.g. I went to The Jungle earlier in the season and we probably took 1500; Cas brought around 150 here I'd say). Just not fair at all. That's why in my opinion a fair solution to rewards clubs like ours for our travelling support would be for it to be given a franchise point, but clearly that'll never happen.

I'm more bothered about getting our home support back. Less than 11,000 Hull fans there yesterday.

Quite. Far too much concern about away numbers at all clubs TBH when the focus should be on maximising the home crowd.

I don't understand why so many people have stopped coming. The Agar/Kath/Rule malarkey is over, we have an owner and coach who are both passionate about developing the club. We've been playing much better rugby than the last few seasons. You'd have thought the crowds would have at least increased a bit over the course of the season, I mean we used to get between 15-17000 on average a few seasons back!

Times are hard, for one thing. Worse than they were even just a year ago. And it's always more difficult to get people to come back once they stop going.

We've never averaged between 15000 and 17000. The season we got 14k average was when we had 2 near sell out home derbies.

13k average is more realistic in the next 2-3 years if we get a reasonable amount of success and they can do something about match day ticket prices

Haha what I meant was that I remember there being quite a number of games where there was 15000+ fans. Probably don't remember properly though as I was just a kid

I think clubs should get together & offer discounts for pass holders to away games.

Each set their own.

Even a fiver off is less than a gallon of gas or a couple of pints.

8 - 10 quid would surely boost the numbers travelling, improve atmosphere as well ?

Pretty sure these offers would boost season pass sales for every club as well.

Return of voucher exchange scheme a must for me.

how about a bigger % offered to the clubs that bring more away fans on a sliding scale and some of that being added onto a loyalty scheme account for a reduction in a supporters season pass?
that way everyone is a winner, home team gets more punters through the door, away club get a slightly better % of the sales passing most of that onto the loyal travelling fans who get money off their season pass (over & above any normal discounts) for showing their loyalty in supporting their team away from home.
of course if you are selling season passes at 12s 6d (such as Bradford and Hudds have done recently) then you may well end up paying the fans to attend the home fixtures
