The current test is pretty tough too.

This looks like part of the plan to reduce immigration massively. Why they don't just say "No more immigrants" and have done with it, I don't know. Thats what's happening via a roundabout route anyway.

There was no test when I became a British Citizen in 2004. I had a brief chat with the registra who was rather taken aback with my 'ull accent until I explained my situation, then I had to pledge allegiance to the Queen, sing the National Anthem and reluctantly have my photo taken beside the Union Jack, holding my Citizenship certificate. All this because they changed the rules on Indefinate Leave to Remain :roll:
