I know and appreciate how fitness and dietary needs have changed but looking back for a result I came across our fixtures for April 85. I was at Wigan for the April 19th defeat and couldn`t go to Workington the following day so had to come home. It was one of a few that I missed that season but look at our games below to see what I am getting at. WHAT a month that was..

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and proudly proclaiming `Wow, what a ride`

Uppo58, we took two teams to Wigan and the second string after the game went on to Workington. It was a fixture backlog to beat em all. Cas three times in eight days, Barrow away always a tough un and then the Dobbins. It cost me a fortune to follow.

The backlog was due to some match postponements in the winter and Cup runs in the Yorkshire Cup, JPS Trophy and of course the Challenge Cup. Ironically the fatigure and some injuries went against us in the Wembley final.

We played something like 47 games that season, including 19 from March to April.
