Won't happen with the pittance you're rumoured to be offering.

Its called negotation and as with all contract negotations you have to Sit down and work out exactly what you need and want. Secure the needs first and negotiate with the wants (aka the extra stuff you can do without), how much you can afford and how far you’re prepared to compromise on both (afford vs. spend).

The operative word here is compromise and i believe the board will be doing everything within their power to secure the services of players such as Taylor and possibly Cox on long term deals.
It simply would not make sense imo to suddenly start offloading our best local prospects(assets)just for short term gain, especialy when NH has said in the past that the club would need to build around good local players such as the above mentioned .
With regards to clubs paying fees for players, those days are in the past as very few clubs if any have the finances to make such transactions, including Hull Fc, unless of course they want to go down the same road as the Bradford Bulls.

I heard a rumor that Soylent Green is made from the people. The government wouldn't do that to us would they?

Would probably go down nice in a sandwich, it would give a whole new meaning to the slogan we're all in it together. :)
