I spotted this in Patrick Collins' column in today's Mail on Sunday:-

" The wisest words of the sporting week were spoken by a panel of three QCs. The Welsh do not have first call on their own groung, unlike the relegated Newcastle. They were considering an appeal by London Welsh rugby club against a decision to exclude them from the Premiership, despite having won promotion.
To their shame, Newcastle successfully protested but the lawyers overturned it and declared : 'Issues of promotion and relegation should be determined by performance on the pitch.' It is a simple truth.
Let us hope that other sports take note."

I get the feeling that we'll return to P&R sooner rather than later, under strict guidelines.

On the subject of P&R, what is the set up for next season re championship and championship 1? Is it still 2up 2down? And with there being 14 in championship 1 is the play off going to go to top 8?

At the end of this season 4 teams from Championship 1 will be promoted to the Championship.

All the present Championship sides are in the same league next season.
