It's "been". I wouldn't argue any such thing. Rovers fans were wetting themselves at your depth in the forwards in the off-season, and used the description "paper-thin" on multiple occasions, even Mild Rover himself IIRC, to describe our squad. Hardly surprising you'll finish 4th in that context.
I stand by that - 'thin' at least, perhaps not 'paper thin'. Even former Australian assistant coach Peter Gentle seems to have felt a few in-season adjustments were required, so I am... VINDICATED! Yeah!
Regarding the 3 rumoured candidates for your new hb spot... an outsiders POV: I think Holdsworth would be a very good choice from a rugby POV. But if the hb target is the remaining big name signing player Pearson is talking about then Brough or Chase seem much more obvious candidates. Holdsworth won't shift many season tickets or, for all that he is a good player, bring many of those moments of brilliance that can turn a game.
Brough - that could happen, a deal being subsidised by Tickle going to Widnes sounds plausible. I think he'd offer exactly what you need, but slightly suspect Mr McRae shares Mrs B's opinion of him - something about Frank Gallagher, wasn't it?
Chase - can't see it somehow. And I don't think it would end well.
Basically, I think it'll be someone from the NRL. Or Brough. Or Holdsworth and Fui-Fui Moi-Moi. Definately one of those.
'Thus I am tormented by my curiosity and humbled by my ignorance.' from History of an Old Bramin, The New York Mirror (A Weekly Journal Devoted to Literature and the Fine Arts), February 16th 1833.
Brough a done deal. NRL SOO prop and Paea done also.
Civoniceva playing on for 1 more year, is he? Can't honestly see any recent SOO players moving to SL in the near future, but would be a massive capture if we did.
Civoniceva would be a massive singing, just what we need,Holdsworth would add nothing to what we already have,a waste of cap money, that wouldn't move the team on to the next level.

Alot of clubs looking at Bulls players due to their current situation, maybe Gale is one of the players FC are looking at.

Hull KR rising as they have as a club, to be the major force over in the city of Hull, its an absolutely amazing growth of development. If you have to single out one reason why, I think its because of a dynamic figure head and the chairman there in my opinion seems to be the man.
