Every time we lose, I go on the internet the morning after and go on BBC Sport in the vain hope that Powell has finally shuffled off, and each week I am left disappointed. Yesterday was no better or worse than we've managed all season in terms of performance, but it was quite astonishing how easy Leeds found it in the final fifteen minutes. As soon as they tried anything even remotely expansive, we just had no answer. In defence, we seem to expect teams to be as one-dimensional attacking us as we are at them.
We competed for the first twenty minutes of each half, but you just can't allow yourself to be so easily swept away like that. It was embarrassing, sitting in the East Stand, completely outnumbered (2 to 1 at least) by away fans, looking at us as we shouted at the team to pull their finger out, offering us the 'keep the faith' platitudes. Leeds won at a canter and it felt like they barely broke a sweat. Humiliating.
The club can offer as many ticket deals as it wants. It can encourage all of us to bring friends. It can stock the club shop to the gills for us to buy. But why would we? Is there any pride left - at all? I honestly don't think I can bare much more of this.
