The point is that neither Wakey then, nor Cas now, have the money to pursue success on the pitch and stadia dreams at the same time. Buying Rangi out of a 5 year deal will cost serious money. If you get a nibble at the price, but no deal, where do you go from there? You've taken a hard line, but you know you need to sell the player, so you have to find a way to reduce the price...

no need for the hard line just sell him cheap anyway

But they have to find a way to appease the fans - if they flog him to the highest bidder without putting up the semblance of a fight, their fans turn against them.

Got to agree with you here to some extent. I think the "PR strategy" isn't conducted by Cas Tigers though but through Chase himself and his agent who was in the country recently. Get suspended (again) plus a bad diciplinary record and hopefully (for Chase) he will be able to leave.

If this act was purely to get out of his contract then he has a very serious problem as opposed to just a serious problem.

itFor me, its a case of PR from both parties...what I think is the hierarchy at Cas want the fans to turn agaisnt Chase by portraying him in a bad light (we knew this anyway there was just a section of fans who worshipped him) and so make us not be too worried when we sell him, so there are less groans. Chase has done this to simply just get sold, he knows Cas will not put up with this much longer and hes an absolute he's turned fans heads who used to love him, he thinks hes better than the whole of castleford tigers...reaction is get rid

Never been convinced about him on the pitch meself, think the hype has taken over somewhat. It's relatively easy to look like a worldbeater and stand out in a poor side, but I am yet to be convinced that he can do what is required of him when he is just another cog in the wheel at somewhere like Wigan. I suppose the cunter argument is that its much harder to perform when playing behind a beaten pack and give a half back a platform then let them create and only time will if he does go onwards and upwards.

He just seems to be too much of a maverick for me and for every hop-skip-jump that unlocks a defense there is a horrible scummy tackle or off field incident to balance things out.

I think you are crediting him with far too much intelligence. He already has a reputation as a loose canon, all this nonsense is just as likely to put off potential suiters.

The best business decision the castleford club has made for some years. Sell get shut and get some serious coin. Rebuild a team where victory is not totally dependable on one man.

Seems he's not in the squad for Monday, maybe one of these rumours flying around regards him is true, taking a long time to investigate a few sherberts at xscape? Anyone hearing anything from a good source?

:SHOOT: IF what a Castleford Fan has told me is correct, he should be suspended for a long time, he is not a good example for the sport or young people aspiring to play it.
