It can't only be me that is glad we aren't in Super League, every (bar the top 4) SL forum you go on, on here is just in complete turmoil, it can't only be me aswell that reads some of the forums with a wry smile. The whole competition is on its booty, light years behind the Aussies, God only knows what state the game will be in when Tomkins goes to Oz in 2014, that will 100% be the final nail in the coffin though.

After seeing some of the games on SKY this year, particularly that Wigan training exercise shown on Monday night, I have no itentions of getting behind the 'We BeLEIGHve' one bit, we are better where we are, aslong as the club is breaking even at the end of the year, the players we have want to play at Leigh then I'm happy with what we've got.

Anyone taking bets on the next SL team to go bust?

If you think Leigh can survive at the LSV without the goal of SL to sell then I wish I lived in your world.
Reality is a world of 700 gates and low play and pay wages for whoever we can attract, which is not my vision for the future of our club.
SL this year is awful to watch, Warrington didn't even bother last night and it looks like Wigan didn't either. Far too many poor games and already 6 clubs have nothing to play for.

SL is dying on it booty in its current form.

Franchising isn't helping, and there needs to be a huge shift in attitude and setup. Leigh could be a valid part of a more sensible SL, or SL1 with SL reduced in size.

The honest truth is that there aren't enough clubs that are viable as wholly full-time setups with more back office staff than they can afford. Bradford are screwed, London and Hull KR are haemorrhaging cash, Salford are looking creaky, rumours of financial strife around Wakefield and Cas won't go away, Widnes rely on generous director input. I've just mentioned half of Super League, and I've probably not covered everyone that needs mentioning.

Simple fact is that any club that needs more than 500k of director input to stay in business should not be in SL. Have the RFL got the balls to inject real sane financial management in to the game? Not a chance, but it may be forced upon them.

and your doing so well financally arent you come on wake up super leagues not perfect but champioship 1 and 2 crowds are very poor so there is no money in there the best way to go is SL 1 and SL 2 of 10 teams each the rest are teams who could never play at the top level anyway

The question and it is the most important question that not a single thread about all this is. What wage would you think any player or head coach or physio needs to make him- or her for that matter- happy and financially sound playing or managing our game? I would say there isn't enough anyway.

The difference is, clubs of our stature KNOW we've not got any money and try to cut our cloth accordingly. Can't see many SL clubs joining 'Fax in the 'profit club'.
