I'm struggling see the downside to be honest

If we are specifically talking about Sykes, then obviously he's a player that doesn't figure in our plans. If Wakefield are prepared to take him off our wage bill then whats not to like?

As long as its Sykes, Platt and maybe Scruts(on recent form) I wouldnt be to bothered. Gonna be 3 big(ish) earners those three.

I expect lots of clubs are potentially interested in some of our players. For instance I hear Elima has received offers from Hull and Catalans.

Think you will find you don't have any say in it.

FWIW Sammut and young Donaldson were at Headingley on Tuesday night for the 9's and JS was saying that 99% of the players were already talking to other clubs about their futures and had been for a while.
I suppose you can't blame them plus according to many Bateman to Wire is nailed on!!

I've been told Huddersfield wanted Bateman and made an offert but have now ended their interest as he has agreed to sign for Warrington. Deal done last week apparently.

So hope it's not true, but wouldn't be a massive surprise
