I told you on the last page what it would cost to go from 2,800 to nearly 5,000 over 6 years...Gus reads these boards, he knows it too....but I'll tell you what the club will do......rather than employ me either as a consultant advisor for a few days a month or full time working remotely from here (ie, night shift)...or maybe make me a relocation offer   , they'll instead see who's languishing in the comms office at the ECB or Wimbledon....should get another bargain there, with the added bonus that Gus already knows how good they are....Like Imogen was

Those of us who worked with Imogen, found her professional and competent, she was treated very shabbily in my opinion, I understand that, she went on Jury Service and was not told not to return. The same could be said of Petra.

I am sure she was very good at what she did......it's just what she did with regard to the promotion of the club, wasn't very much.......and that's not just my opinion....it's kind of backed up by the results (or lack of them).

I am a realist...and I will say this in here defence.......Gus went on record as saying the poop crowds were down to bad performances on the team.......then he lets her go...........make your mind up Gus.....whose fault is it?

She was in fact a press officer, and not responsible for marketing, that was Gus's baby. Gus gives the impression of thrashing around but not addressing the main issues.

Mea Culpa, she acted like a press officer, talked like a press officer and looked like a press officer, one should not get taken in by appearances. She deserved the boot!

GF looks like a punk, dresses like a punk and is one! Doc Martins were always going to come back into fashion as were drain pipe jeans(or skinnies as they are now called)!! hang in there and it all comes back into fashion.

GF-Why do you think the club has not taken on board any of your 20 point plan- serious question?

I have no idea. It's not like any single one of the 20 ideas was new/unique.

There are people far more talented and creative than I ever will be who earn more money and righly so I will add, who come up with genius new ideas.....
...I have no doubt that the person who formulated the "Kompare the Meerkat" idea had doubts as well as sceptics in their own agency who weren't sure......an awfull lot of marketing is smoke and mirrors as well as guesswork.

What I proposed was simple, short and cheap (some were free) campaigns that would have involved legwork, unsocial hours and buckets of enthusiasm... IIRC I first posted a version of it in Sept 2008........since then, there really hasn't been anything of substance from the club. I am sure Imogen is a lovely lady, as was her predecessor.....but I fail to see how these people justified employment on 45k a year......and yet managed to shrink the averages down from 3.9 to 2.8....that's nearly 30%....whilst spending what little marketing budget there was available.

The ideas I proposed, notice, they aren't my ideas, may or may not work, but I tell you what, they wouldn't have seen a 30% drop in numbers.

As for Jaybs being curious to know if I'd be all bluster, or if I'd knuckle down to it.....I repeat, I would have died trying if I'd been given the chance......but hey ho...we'll never know!

As it is, it would seem I have torched my bridges with the club......I was contacted pre season, I said I'd lay off until after the Castleford game...I did, but as soon as I began to criticise what was occurring (or what wasn't to be more accurate), the emails and calls dried up.......until they became curt Texts at stupid past midnight telling me that Orient was a SL standard ground and commenting on how negative I am........

NEWSFLASH: Give me something to be positive about and I'll be positive......I post what I post because I care not to score points on a virtual forum.

Tony Rea got "shunted" for only having accumilated 13 points by July 2006......make us all smile Gus....get rid of the train wreck that is Powell.

Dunno if its already been mentioned in this thread but another concern, apart from all the old posters who don't bother anymore is the lack of new users. In the past our decline was as much moving across the capital as anything else, but the last couple of years a poison has taken hold of the club
