Gay, Donlan - I was a big Damian Gibson fan myself as well - I actually think he did a great job for us - took him from Rhimo's player of the year and did well for us.

Jason Flowers = safe as houses

Donlan was also pretty handy at FB, played the latter part of his career there.

Other than that, I can't think of a particularly reliable Cas full back. Gay played mostly on the wing afaik.

I think Gay and Flowers were 'OK' it is just the romantic eyes looking back to the glorious past that make them better! Not insulting either, I'd like to have had Ok careers like them?!

He wouldn't get away with what he does at Cas. We don't exactly have much discipline with players and their social lives like other clubs do

IMO, that has been the problem for the past 10 years and I believe it shows on the pitch

Yeah, because Gareth Hock was just misunderstood.

Give Donlan a shirt number and let him play! He had a fantastic season at Leigh last year, awesome defensive fullback and rolled back the years in attack too, was gutted when he announced his retirement. Got to be better than playing McGoldrick :D
