I'd do what we did with Williams about this time last year and take a look at both for the remainder of the season, it's obvious to all and sundry we need a decent prop and with Smith off then a half is needed to if Snyed isn't going to be given a crack of the whip, even if he is then we need back up in place and Ellis is a talented player.

Ellis is already signed on for Cas next year, announced today.

Going to need a few football cards taking round if we're going to be able to pay him!
He was shot in both arms , and both legs. He later died because of his injuries. Tommy 25th March 2007.
Salford City Reds are the National League Champions again and nobody will ever win a Grand Final more dramatically than this. Division One champions, Grand Final winners, winners of the Northern Rail Cup; everything their hearts desired. Down and out? Not a bit of it, they are never out. Memories are made of this forever and a day, Salford fans will ask "where did you watch the 2008 Grand Final? Where did you see John Wilshere save the day with the last kick of the ball?"
There were reports over the weekend that he's heading for a club this side of the Pennines. My guess would be Warrington (whose salary cap seems to be more of a top hat than a cap, given the number of players they're able to fit under it) or, more likely, Widnes.
Salford might be better (and I'm sure are) keeping an eye on what's happening at Bradford. They've gone into administration today, and I suspect there'll be a fire sale of players before too long.
Someday, somewhere, today’s empires are tomorrow’s ashes.
Played with Eamon at amateur level in Oldham, so can vouch for his talents. He is a great guy both on and off the field. I just don’t know whether he has the size in which we desperately require going forward. But in terms of effort you can’t fault him; he will give 110% every game. As mentioned previously though I have also heard he is Widnes bound.
With the current situation at Bradford, is Luke Gale worth looking at?

I agree, he hasnt got the size that we desperately need. From what Ive seen of him he looks wholehearted and a steady player. He got stuck in at Wigan when they was going through a difficult period and did well in a struggling team but hasnt kicked on from there.
As MR states, its if possible give him a contract till the end of the season and give him a place in the seventeen. There are two obvious squad members we need to get rid of in James and Boyle who need to drop back down to the championship.

With the depth we've got at Prop he would struggle to make our under 20's team.
The 25-year-old Ireland international, who joined Hull on a three-year deal at the start of the season, had his contract terminated by mutual agreement after being unable to establish himself in the first team.
O'Carroll has agreed terms with the Vikings on a deal which takes him to the end of the 2014 season and, after training with his new team-mates today, could make his debut in Monday's home game against Castleford.
Widnes coach Denis Betts said: "We're really fortunate to have secured Eamon, not only for the rest of this season but the following two as well.
"This affords him ample opportunity to get used to our systems and the way we go about our business here at Widnes, which will hopefully bring out the best in him.
"He is a fantastic player who never gives less that 100% on the pitch. We actually tried hard to bring him to the Stobart Stadium before his move to Hull FC, but we entered the party a little too late and the deal was already in the bag."
Oldham-born O'Carroll, who made 61 Super League appearances for Wigan, said: "I'm really looking forward to working with Denis.
"I was only in the academy at Wigan when he was head coach at the club but he used to host quite a few sessions for the younger players and I remember those days well.
"I had a few offers from elsewhere and normally I wouldn't have entertained the opportunity of joining a club part-way through the season but, as soon as Widnes came in for me, I jumped at the chance and I was keen to put pen to paper as quickly as possible.
"Before signing the contract, I spoke at length with Paul Cullen and he brought me right up to speed with the club's plans.
"What he had to say excited me and I definitely want to be a part of the future here at Widnes."
