Lunt had a promising start and imo is a decent 9 but like the team at the moment he doesn't know if he's coming going staying or on his way back!!
FWIW i'd hope we'd get Macca back because i think he's good enough to be our 9 or 1 of them at least for a long time to come.

McShane needs to show a more consistent appetite for the less glamorous aspects of the game before I would have him as a starting hooker at Leeds.

He's certainly no Jamie Foster... Presumably Andy means doing the hard graft? From what I saw of the Wigan Widnes game on Monday, McShane seemed to be putting himself about (I didn't watch the second half though), chasing down kickers etc.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the hooker situation. I'm struggling to see why McShane is out of favour - at least on the playing front. He hasn't set the world on fire in the Leeds first team but neither has he really had a prolonged opportunity to establish himself. Seems to pass and kick very well and didn't look out of place at all against Manly. Defence probably needs work, but he's not the only one at the moment.

I doubt Lunt and McShane will both be retained for next season. Lunt is more of a seasoned pro but then again is a lot older and has lots more experience than McShane. He's also got deficiencies defensively and IMO that is more of a worry at this stage of his career, especially given that he's been coached by defence oriented Nathan Brown who seems to prefer the chunkier Scott Moore.

Waiting in the wings Hood looks very promising and I'd expect him to feature more once he bulks up a bit. IMO he would complement McShane more than Lunt.

Clark is an exciting prospect but again I think he'd work better alongside McShane than Lunt or Hood who seem to be similar types of player. For this reason I doubt Gawwy will get the chequebook out if we already have plenty of talent in this department... But who knows - our recruitment has rarely been predictable in recent years. Clark is the sort of player I would like to see at Leeds though.

Hooker depends all on Burrow & McGuire. For me, Burrow played very well against Cas as starting hooker. If he can reproduce against London & Hull, I think it's fair to move him there an a permanent basis, with McGuire at scrum half. That wouldn't really leave a spot in the squad for McShane.
