And in other news, shares in tin foil are up 100% in the Castleford area.

I think all this is something that we see a lot in Football circles and sadly it is starting in R.L now, if i am wrong i will apologise but has it gone something like this?.....

Wigan leak to the press that they are interested in Chase (but not at the price Cas are likely to command for him)as they are losing both starting half backs next season.

Press ask the question of Wigan's interest to Chase who is flattered and interested (no surprise given the state of the club at present).

Wigan then say they are no longer interested in Chase, who probably upset at losing out playing for a competitive team goes out 2 days before a match bringing him into conflict with the club, in an attempt to force the clubs hand.

What could happen?....Cas are stook with an unhappy player who doesn't put the effort in and is distruptive behind the scenes.

Wigan then come in again and we accept a reduced ammount to get rid of the bad influence.

I hope i am wrong.

As long as Wigan can be painted as the villain in all this. Where would RL be without Wigan to blame for everything?

Sit him in the U18's until he grows up. For Godsake he's a father earning money most of us could only dream about.

Would Wigan want to sign a player like Chase who is disruptive, petulant and basically does whatever he wants ?

He wouldn't get away with what he does at Cas. We don't exactly have much discipline with players and their social lives like other clubs do

IMO, that has been the problem for the past 10 years and I believe it shows on the pitch

I actually think there is a worse outcome - Wigan actually reconsider their position knowing S Wane as we do through the media that any single step out of line is unacceptable on and off the field.

So now we have a petulant player who has burned some bridges, but nowhere for them to go - It is difficult to manage and unless you want to be like Manchini and accept that players are more important than you as a manager and your rules count for nothing - as a head coach do you not accept anyone disrespecting the club and its badge and play them without another word and the damage that does to the squad.

Not easy - but sport is a very fickle suitor and a statement here, handshake there and a good performance and most sins are absolved - look at Rooney for England and Man U....

Does anyone actually know what happened? I thought there would be a lot more chat about this?

It is difficult - there are two primary stories doing the rounds which could be shared, but similarly saying they are alledged doesn't protect people from being in a tricky legal position - so I would suggest that there is no great value in posting supposition and allegations.

Much as it is fun and most people appreciate the difference between an allegation and a tale, as opposed to the truth - but I am not prepared to take that risk!
The Mod's could allow a thread to be created called the "Completely unfounded alleagations threar - where everything is just plain fiction"

that might allow some lee-way.

Will the Bulls plight and the sudden availability of several realistic/quality targets to anyone with cap space affect our BODs view of the Chase situation?
