Conceded 60 points at home to Sheffield and Halifax!!! Best team by far???? Seriously???

Fev going to Leigh and getting the result shows Rovers are still the team to beat and are playing some quality rugby at the moment. Leigh will bounce back and be there or there abouts when the dust settles. Fax, well if they play like they did the other night it will be Fev by 112 points on Thursday.

well we'll see! Maybe we are, maybe we're not. Time will tell - eventually!
Last year we were by far the best team in the comp. We are currently playing football akin to the back end of last year. Naturally, [some] Fax fans are more or less focussing on the two heavy losses we've had (given by the number of references to them on this forum)! Of course, that's ok by be. Why wouldn't it be? I can't for the life of me explain our form at that time. Perhaps it was the heavy pitches, the intergration of newer players in the team, the distraction of the cup run etc - perhaps it was none of those things. But the two 60 points games were wholly uncharacteristic of fev - before and after that period. I only hope Karl emulates what APPEARS to be the majority of Fax fans and believes that Fev are the team from 'thiose few weeks' and that another 60 points hammering of Fev is a certainty!!
Best team by far?? Dunno. We'll see eh?

Agreed, good post. You may or may not be the best team in this league but "by far"? Definitely not. I also agree with the comment about heavy pitches but the sunny Sunday afternoon at Post Office Road when Halifax ran in 60 points was an absolute scorcher. We constantly say Halifax are still waiting for thd good weather and firm grounds so we can show what we are capable of but we are halfway thru the season and can't wait much longer.
Personally I think this season is the closest one for a long time. Halifax, Fev and Leigh are the best teams but have been made to work hard, at times, by everyone else. I just hope Thursday night isn't a thrashing be that win or lose.
Can't wait for the big game Thursday as isaid this week the next three games are massive for us we got over the first hurdle and yours is the second As Fax are at home I think you have the advantage but as you showed us at our place it doesn't always work like that Who ever loses its not the end of the world so lets hope for a good close game and the best team on the night wins

Fev set the benchmark we know that, we are the upstarts and are coming up on the rails. After all the injuries we have had I think we have done damn well to be top of the pile at the moment, we are one of the best 3 teams in this league and if we win anything this year we will have done very well, we are building and if its not this year I think we will kick on and be the team to beat next year. I would love to beat Fev next week though as it would put down a marker.
I think what we saw in the fax and Sheff drubbings at POR were the after effects of our boys titanic efforts against Cas and Wigan. There is no doubt that the lads were battered and bruised at that time and possibly got carried away with the hype.
Don't forget our guys are part timers and the effort put into stopping Wigan and Cas handing us our axses was immense.
Since then we have started to build slowly back to the team we were last year, with each of the last four games a noticeable confidence and self belief is returning just at the right time.
If you were to ask me if I was prepared to suffer 2 drubbings on home soil in trade off for dumping Castleford out of the Challenge cup and giving Wigan a fright,Then you BET YOUR LIFE I would because this is a marathon not a sprint and we have the rest of the season to put those drubbings right.
DP is the best Coach in this league by far and seldom has got his strategy wrong and I have total faith in him to lead us onto bigger and better things this season.
We have the mighty Fax coming up this week and this one is gonna be a humdinger because to mind we are still hurting from our last encounter and the lads have a point to prove to the Fev fans and themselves.
Nothing short of a very convincing win will do in my opinion at the Shay,if that happens then I think the rest of the league better get ready because the Fevolution will be back on track.
I am happy to play underdog to the league leaders Fax because that I believe is where our motivation will come from going forward,Im happy to be reminded of the 60 point drubbing and I hope DP uses that as the driver for the rest of the season.
Any fight I have ever won in life has been when the result was supposedly a certain loss for me..

Come On You Cappers....
I take my hat "hat get it?" off to you. An excellent post. Just one point, you say "Nothing short of a very convincing win will do in my opinion at the Shay" Be happy with a win. Personally I don't think you will win, but if you do it won't be "a convincing win" Very much looking forward to it tho' Here is to a good game.
And Behold, a pale horse. And on his back his name was death

John you misunderstood me maybe,I didn't say I thought we would win convincingly what I meant was that if either Fax or Fev win this one convincingly then I reckon that team will win the league.

No problemo, Is that my can of "white lightening" your drinking. I think your right, as I said earlier, we lose, you go top and we still have to go to Leigh. So no disrespect to Leigh, but this is the game. Note to Gregg Florimo's boots "This is only my opinion"
