Just wanted to say how impressed I was with Salford’s new ground last night. After reading a comment on here a couple of days ago from a Salford fan saying something like ‘prepare to be underwhelmed’, I wasn’t expecting much.

However the stadium looked impressive on the approach and once inside, it continued to look very impressive.

The away end was brilliant! It was like it used to be at The Willows, or at the Shay stadium where we were all packed in and the noise was great.

The pitch held up brilliantly to 2 matches being played in awful conditions and the sound system was excellent too – which it certainly isn’t at Langtree Park!

We parked near Eccles RLFC and it was only a 10/15 minute walk to the ground.

I just hope that crowds continue to grow for Salford and home support gets better in a great new facility.

Dave how dare you be complimentary towards the ground, you do know you'll get shot for being constructive.

To be fair thought last night was a good atmosphere and the addition of the bar outside really helped to get people there a bit earlier.

I know - how dare I write something positive on rlfans?!! Saddened (amongst many others it seems) will be very disappointed...

But seriously - really wanted to post. I really enjoyed my first visit to the new ground (the result obviously helped!) and think it's a cracking stadium.

Well done Salford :)

Well just goes to show how two people have differing impressions, I to was impressed at your new stadium but I for one couldnt make out the PA , unlike at LP where I can hear everything, the ground is well laid out didnt try the catering but didnt look too many queues , Salford will do well in such a facility compared to the Willows , as Langtree Park is compared with Knowsley Rd is like a palace

I'm another one who liked your stadium. The atmosphere in the away stand was great. It was snug and dry, the drinks were cheaper than at Saints' place, served by friendly people in a dry concourse that had luxuries like walls and a roof! Even the hand dryers in the ladies loos were better; they actually dried my hands without the need to camp down for the evening!

The pitch looked in great condition and it was nice to be close to the action again. At Langtree Park we are too far away; can't tell who is who sometimes. There was a good atmosphere generally too; we could hear your fans and could respond, and that was in spite of the wind which seemed to want to blow everything away.

Thumbs up from me. :thumb:

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr
