Nothing, it's what happens when you have good players and a poor season.

Well that and not one player in the squad respects Millward, in fact it's rare to find a player in the RL world who does - he's really disliked and not respected.

Not sure this is the case, I was talking to the son of a former cas player yesterday, and he reckons its more the attitude of the players.
Millward is making them train harder and for longer, and seems to be meeting with some resistance from some of the more established players.
One name mentioned was Rangi Chase who apparently is the worst trainer at the club.
Maybe if he can clear out the non conformists he may get the club back on track??

They aren't training for Millward because of the simple fact they don't respect him and he ripped the dressing room to shreds on day 1 with what he did to Mathers who was one of the popular players within the dressing room.

I think Millward and Cas need to tread carefully with the Mathers situation. The justification given was that he saw Owen as his fullback.....if he does start playing Brierley, or someone else at fullback next year it makes a mockery of his reason/excuse for pushing Mathers out. In any other workplace you'd be strung up for that type of behavior.....all sorts of phrases like constructive dismissal come to mind!

In regards to Clark, everything suggests that it is Clark himself who is asking permission for a transfer. As a young lad who's only recently signed the contract it basically shows that he is either unhappy, or something isn't quite what it seemed it would be at the time of signing the contract....and we could spend all day speculating the many things that could be at Cas at the moment!

Just imagine it yourself, if you wanted to leave your job and the boss started waving your contract in front of your nose and saying that you can't leave...or else!! It wouldn't make you want to put any extra effort in for that company would it?

It's time for someone at the club to come clean and say why he wants to leave.
The saying 'bent as a 9 bob note' has now been dropped.....corrected phrase is 'bent as the RFL!'

You are doing worse than expected but its not that much of a surprise your where you are.

You finished 9th last season. 8th was the best you could have hoped for imo looking at the squads in SL this season. Wakey were always going to improve on last year. Rangi Chase was never going to be as good as last season, Cas rarely play well if Rangi doesnt play well, that needs to be addressed. A couple of wins and you could be 10th similar to last seasons position.

Judging by last season and being in the playoffs for virtually the entire season before falling away, being top at one point, out playing leeds in the CC semi and having your star player win MoS, I think alot of cas fans were expecting too much this year.

I personally think that there's been a lot of changes at Cas in a relatively short space of time. When Daryl signed his new contract he was playing for a coach he had played under for many years and there was still the significant chance that he would shortly be playing in a brand new stadium that would bring many benefits.

A new coach has come in, who is still trying unsuccessfully to get the players working to his methods, and with the possibility of the new stadium diminishing as every month goes by Daryl possibly feels that things are heading in the wrong direction. So if a club like Warrington comes forward with a good offer you are going to seriously consider that offer.

I can see that we have not heard the last of this one and there will possibly be more to follow.
