The future

Well we now have the go ahead for the stadium this in itself should put the juggernaught on the road in the following areas

1. player recruitment I expect to see the quality of players willing to sign increase and thus enhance our team and league stading.

2. Youth development never a better time to get behind 1873 to develop and nurture the best local talent who will want to play in the best facilities. WE can match Leeds and be the best in the District and also potentially fill a gap from Bradford due to their current strife.

3. Our license for SL this announcement does ease the burden but we cannot be complacent. The club in in a virtuous cycle for the first time in many years, it appears to have an effective business plan in place under a cute owner. We have to attract the top people and firms from WAKEFIELD District to be part of this evolution.

4. Start planning for next seasons ticket sales, this year have been excellent value but I for one am more than happy to pay a lot more now we have a roof and the opportunity to pull in better players. perhaps the club could gauge this fairly quickly. We could well increase ST numbers by offering longer term payment plans like a DD each month rolling for a season ticket. The issue there is policing it, for instance if we had the electronic turnstiles at Leeds they would not allow entry to anyone not paid up. We still have old type turnstile entry systems relaint on people, I am sure the move to NM will see this aspect be more technologically advanced.

We need some positive news for the team now a win on Sunday would cap the week off but a quality signing would be welcome for next seasn.

Sounds good, who are the kids playing? How much is it in? As long as it's not pouring I'm up for a bit of that.

IMO yesterday will be a huge motivator for any lad from our area to sign with us. Long may the good feelings continue.

I think there is still a fair bit of funds yet to be raised. Yc are build a shell of a stadium if all goes well. There's no guarantee to a new franchise yet but its a great step in the right direction though. Bit early for celebration parties and like that have been suggested by some on here. Let's hold back just a little as there are still hurdles to overcome. We need to keep our feet on the ground for a little longer.
I'm still laughing at Cas!!!
